Installation
Get the module into Odoo, create your account, and connect the desktop client to your printers.
Download the app from the Odoo Store and upload it to your Odoo server.
This step is usually done by technical support staff. How to install on Odoo.sh
Install the app.
The installer offers to set you up with printing. If you already have a PrintNode account, you can enter your existing API key here instead.
If you miss this dialog, you can always reach the same settings later at Direct Print → Configuration → Settings.
Create an account on print.ventor.tech and confirm your email address. If you already have one, sign in.
Set up your printing subscription. Compare the plans, then choose one — the first 90 days of printing are included, and your card is taken when you start rather than charged.
Download and install the Direct Print desktop client on a computer that can see your printers. It does not have to be the computer you use Odoo on — any machine on the same network as the printers will do, and it can serve everyone in the company.
Sign in to the desktop client using the username and password from your account page.
The password is shown once when it is issued. If you no longer have it, issue a new one from the credentials page — it costs nothing, and your printers and their settings are preserved.
Back in Odoo, go to Direct Print → Configuration → Settings, paste in the API key from your account page, and click Import Printers & Scales.
Copy the key across yourself rather than using the GET API KEY button beside the field. That button used a hand-off that we have retired, and it will not fill the field in.
