Why Is There an Exclamation Mark on the Direct Print Icon?

In recent versions of VentorTech Direct Print, you may notice an exclamation mark badge displayed on the Direct Print printer icon in the Odoo dashboard.

This notification does not necessarily indicate a problem with printing or module configuration.

The exclamation mark may appear when:

  • A new module version is available.
  • An optional review campaign notification is active.

If your printing works correctly, the notification can usually be safely ignored.

If a new version is available, we recommend updating to benefit from the latest features, improvements, and fixes. Detailed instructions on how to update the module are available in the article below:

How to Disable the Notification

The notification can be disabled in the Direct Print settings.

To do this:

  1. Enable Developer Mode (Debug Mode) in Odoo
  2. Open Direct Print → Settings
  3. Enable the “Disable Advertising” checkbox
  4. Save the settings

After that, the notification badge (exclamation mark) will disappear from the Direct Print icon.
